A professional actor since 1978, Michael’s credits include Ghosts, Murdoch Mysteries, The Handmaid’s Tale, Owning Mahowny, The Time Traveller’s Wife, The Santa Clause, Naked Lunch, Queer as Folk, Bone Daddy, Red, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, and many more. Along the way, he’s shared the screen (and the craft table) with the likes of David Cronenberg, Harvey Keitel, Bruce Willis, Rachel McAdams, Eric Bana, Morgan Freeman, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Helen Mirren, Kevin Bacon, and Kyra Sedgwick — proof that a Canadian actor can hold his own in very good company.

As a respected acting and dialect coach, Michael has worked behind the scenes on major U.S. and Canadian productions, collaborating with directors such as Catherine Hardwicke and Robert Schwentke, and producers like Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment.

Off set, Michael is a beloved professor at Humber College’s School for the Creative and Performing Arts, where he teaches Acting for Film & Television and Comedy. He also teaches at The Second City Training Centre and George Brown College, passing along the tricks, tools, and truths he’s picked up from decades in the business (and a few hair-raising auditions).
